Zana is a third year PhD student working with Krzysztof Gajos. Her research interests lie broadly at the intersection of AI and HCI. She designs, builds and evaluates interpretable machine learning models for decision-making support. She is an advocate of responsible AI development and studies the effect of the tools that she builds through an ethical lens. Zana obtained her master’s degree in Computer Science and Engineering from Koc University in Istanbul and her bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering from Izmir Institute of Technology. Originally, she hails from Kosovo.
