# New papers to be presented at the ACM Intelligent User Interfaces conference

January 22, 2020

We will have two papers at the ACM Intelligent User Interfaces conference this year.

The work led by Kenneth Arnold demonstrated that [Predictive Text Encourages Predictable Writing](http://www.eecs.harvard.edu/~kgajos/papers/2020/arnold20predictcive.shtml).

The work led by Zana Buçinca and Phoebe Lin shows that [Proxy Tasks and Subjective Measures Can Be Misleading in Evaluating Explainable AI Systems](http://www.eecs.harvard.edu/~kgajos/papers/2020/bucinca20proxy.shtml).

Both papers contribute to the important contemporary discussion about how we should create AI-powered systems such that they genuinely improve our lives.
